Lean Six Sigma
If you have no support then your process is broken.
Six Sigma is a management strategy that attempts to improve the quality of a process by identifying and removing those areas that are defective or error prone. It uses a set of quality management methods; it also creates a special infrastructure of people who are experts in these methods. When carried out within an organization, it follows a defined sequence of steps and has quantified targets. Targets, such as whatever is critical to the customer of that particular process, can be defined.
Six Sigma has its beginnings in the manufacturing industry but it became clear later that, like CMMI, it could be applied to other arenas as well. A Six Sigma process is one in which 99.99966% of the products manufactured are free of defects, compared to a One Sigma process in which only 31% are free of defects. Motorola, the founder of this business manufacturing strategy, set a goal of "six sigmas" for all of its manufacturing operations; one need not wonder why.
The DMAIC project model is one that has made its way out of manufacturing and into other industries. DMAIC is an acronym for the five phases of this methodology:
It's Often So Easy
just make a minor correction
Everyone has to be involved...
Only then will your processed get to be more efficient and more effective. This translates to satisfied users.
